Worshipful Brother Brett Varker, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, joined the brethren of the Mark Lodge of St George 383 in Plymouth for their installation meeting. He was accompanied by Right Worshipful Brother John P. Clendinning, Past Grand Junior Warden and the Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, together with several Grand Officers, including Worshipful Brothers David Eldridge, Grand Inner Guard and Robert Palmer, Grand Steward and Provincial Grand Secretary, and Worshipful Brother Gilson Rowe, Past Grand Junior Deacon and the Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies.

They were further joined by a number of Provincial Officers, especially Worshipful Brothers Barry Purdy and Robert Hendy, the Provincial Grand Senior and Junior wardens, together with Worshipful Brothers Andrew Hall and Robert Truesdale, the Provincial Grand Master and Senior Overseers.

The main event of the evening saw Worshipful Brother Gareth John proclaimed as the Worshipful Master for a second year, in an excellent manner by Worshipful Brother Martyn Lawrence, a member of the Devon Mark Support Team who was acting as the Director of Ceremonies that evening. Other members of the team who also assisted with the ceremony were Worshipful Brothers Paul Jones and Bill Philip, who held various offices in the evening. The Worshipful Master appointed and invested his officers for the ensuing year, knowing he was well supported by his Immediate Past Master, Worshipful Brother Mark Ormrod MBE.

Following the meeting, the brethren retired to the refectory to enjoy a wonderful festive board with an atmosphere of fun and laughter, as is always found at our Mark meetings.
