Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie, the Provincial Grand Master, travelled across the Province to join the brethren of the De La Pole Lodge of Mark Master Masons 372 in Seaton at their recent installation meeting. He was accompanied on his travels by Right Worshipful Brother Peter Balsom, Past Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother John P. Clendinning, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, and Very Worshipful Brother Martin Smith, Past Grand Junior Overseer and the Provincial Grand Chaplain, together with a host of Grand Officers including Worshipful Brother Robert Palmer, Grand Steward and the Provincial Grand Secretary. They were further joined by a great number of Provincial Grand Officers including Worshipful Brother Barry Purdie, the Provincial Grand Senior Warden, Worshipful Brother Robert Hendy, the Provincial Grand Junior Warden, Worshipful Brother Robert Truesdale, the Provincial Grand Senior Overseer and Worshipful Brother Jon Webber, the Provincial Grand Junior Overseer and Assistant Provincial Grand Secretary.

The meeting was opened in the usual manner, and the Provincial party were received. Moments of reflection and silence in respect of departed merit then took place, along with the reading of their eulogies, for two brethren from the lodge who had been called to higher office since their last meeting. The Worshipful Master then proffered the gavel to the Presiding Officer, who having declined to accept it, was happy to accept a cheque on behalf of the Devon Mark Charity Association.

The next main event of the evening was to see the installation of the new Worshipful Master of this fine lodge. Worshipful Brother Nickolas Reynolds went on to install his successor in what was a sincere ceremony, with an excellent rendition of the working tools being undertaken by Brother Jacek Palczewski, which was word perfect in what is his second language. Having been installed into the chair of Adoniram, Worshipful Brother John Pearce then went on to appoint a very strong team of officers to support him throughout his year.

  

Following the meeting, more than 50 brethren enjoyed a fabulous festive board, with a warm and fun filled atmosphere that is always seen at the festive boards in the Mark degree.

  

  

  

The evening even saw the Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother John P. Clendinning, securing a win in the charity spirit draw.
