Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie, the Provincial Grand Master, was present at the recent installation ceremony of the St Andrews Golf Lodge 1370 recently. Prior to the meeting, he had joined other brethren from the lodge for the usual round of Golf at the Exeter Golf and Country Club before returning to the excellent conference venue for the meeting and festive board.
He was accompanied at the meeting by Very Worshipful Brother John P. Clendinning, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Peter Balsom, Past Provincial Grand Master, Very Worshipful Brother William Daw, Past Grand Junior Overseer, together with the two active Grand Officers namely Worshipful Brother David Eldridge, Grand Inner Guard and Worshipful Brother Robert Palmer, Grand Steward and Deputy Provincial Grand Secretary.
Joining them were a host of Provincial Grand officers and visitors from both Devon and Somerset, including Worshipful Brother Garry Kitchen, Provincial Grand Senior Warden, all three Provincial Grand Overseers, namely Worshipful Brothers Nigel Frude - Master Overseer, David Richards - Senior Overseer and Dr Alan Howlett - Junior Overseer.
The main event of the evening was to see the installation of the new Worshipful master, which was undertaken by the Worshipful Master and Provincial Grand Junior Warden Designate, Worshipful Brother Robert Hendy, who installed Worshipful Brother Christopher Cload into the chair of Adoniram in an excellent manner. He was assisted by other brethren who delivered excellent renditions of the working tools and the collarettes.
The Worshipful Master then went on to appoint and invest his officers before they retired to the dining room, where all present participated in an enjoyable and fun-filled festive board.
