Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie lead the contingent from Devonshire, consisting of more than 30 brethren, to the Mark Grand Lodge Investiture meeting recently. This expedition party included his executive, Very Worshipful Brother John P. Clendinning, the Deputy provincial Grand Master, Worshipful brother Brett Varker, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, and Worshipful Brother Christopher Elliott, the Provincial Secretary. Joining them were a host of other distinguished brethren including Right Worshipful Brothers Peter Hawken MBE and Peter Balsom, both Past Provincial Grand Masters of the Province, together with Very Worshipful Brother Bill Humphries, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master.
The highlight of the day for these assembled brethren, in a packed Grand Lodge Temple, was to see the investiture of those receiving first appointments to Grand Rank, and they were able to receive their honours from the Most Worshipful Pro-Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother John H. Prizeman.
Congratulations from all the brethren within the Province go to those who received honours, namely Worshipful Brother David Eldridge to Grand Inner Guard, Worshipful Brother Robert Palmer to Grand Steward, and Worshipful Brothers Simon Wills and James Edington, both to Past Assistant Grand Directors of Ceremonies.
Following the meeting, the brethren assembled for the customary Provincial photograph, before retiring to the Grand Connaught rooms for the celebration of the day.

Once in the Grand Connaught Rooms, the brethren enjoyed the remainder of the afternoon celebrating and enjoying the atmosphere of such a great day, whilst catching up with those that had missed the photograph, before they made their weary way home.
