The Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie, was joined by a host of avid golfers for their most recent golf day, held at the Stover Golf Club, in Bovey Tracey.

The day consisted of an 18-hole individual Stableford basis, and it was a lovely warm day as these intrepid Mark Master Masons started swinging their clubs and hitting balls in many directions.

After completing the competition, the players then made their way into the Club House for a bite to eat, and a bit of recuperation enabling them to rest the tired limbs.

The brethren then made their way to Ivybridge, where the Lodge then held its meeting.

The evening involved seeing the lodge Advance two candidates, namely Brothers Tobias Cowling and James Lang, in an excellent manner, lead by the Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Robert Hendy and his team. They were welcomed by the Provincial Grand Master and were presented with their Mark Degree Provincial Ties.

The lodge also saw a joining member, in the form of Brother David Seal, who was formerly a member of the Mendip Mark Lodge 781 in the Province of Somerset. This now takes the membership of this lodge to almost 40, which is a wonderful sized lodge within the Province.

Following the wonderful day out and the meeting, the brethren retired into the refectory for the festive board, where prizes were awarded for the Stableford competition, which was won on this occasion by Brother Ian Adams with 39 points, closely followed by Brother Tim Coleridge on 37 points. Further prizes were awarded to Brother Mike Shields and Worshipful Brother Martin Lambert-Gorwyn, and finally to Worshipful Brother Barry Hill, who received the award for achieving the longest walk.
