The Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie, was joined by a number of brethren from the Province on their first journey of the year to London, in order to attend the Quarterly Communications meeting of Mark Grand Lodge.

He was joined by a host of Provincial celebrities including the Deputy and Assistant Provincial Grand Master, namely Very Worshipful Brother John Clendinning and Worshipful Brother Brett Varker, the Past Provincial Grand Masters in the persons of Right Worshipful Brothers Peter Balsom and Peter Hawken MBE, the three active Grand Officers of the year Very Worshipful Brother Bill Humphries, Master Overseer, Worshipful Brother Paul Howard-Baker, Grand Senior Deacon and Worshipful Brother Dennis Challis, Grand Steward.

Also present were Worshipful Brother Rob Palmer, the Deputy Provincial Grand Secretary and Worshipful Brother Gilson Rowe, Assistant Provincial Director of Ceremonies, who also took up the role as the Provincial photographer for the day.

After enjoying a wonderful Quarterly communications meeting, with the Most Worshipful Pro Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother John Herbert Prizeman presiding, a presentation was held for the annual report of donations from the Mark Benevolent Fund to good causes. Such a remarkable amount of £2,155,495, in the form of 72 grants distributed to local charities, Provinces, Districts and other worthy causes in 2024.

Following the meeting, the brethren retired to the Grand Connaught Rooms and participated in an excellent festive board. It was noticed once again that the Past Provincial Grand Master took up the role of Steward at the table.
