Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie, the Provincial Grand Master, recently joined the brethren of the Sincerity Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners 35 for their installation evening in Plymouth.

The ceremony to install their Commander Elect, Worshipful Brother Chris Tyler, was undertaken in an excellent manner by the Installing Commander, Worshipful Brother Bob Truesdale. The new Commander went on to appoint and invest his officers for the year.

The next item on the agenda was a very important one in this lodges recent history. The lodge, like many across the country, has feared that it would sail into the dock and never sail again, as its numbers were gradually falling. Following an excellent recruitment drive within the area, the lodge last summer saw 5 candidates being elevated, 4 of which were in the same meeting. The Worshipful Commander invited the Provincial Grand Master to present Grand Lodge certificates to three of them that were present, which he accepted with pleasure. The positivity amongst the brethren in this lodge, shows that when you have a vision and pursue it, it will bear fruit in the end.
