Worshipful Brother Brett Varker, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, was joined by a number of distinguished brethren recently, at the North Devon Union Mark Lodge 540 in Ilfracombe, to celebrate a wonderful achievement by one of their members.

Brother Tony Reed, was advanced into the North Devon Union Mark Lodge in November 1974, at the age of 35. He was content in enjoying his Mark Masonry, whilst not progressing through the offices, and continued to support the brethren in the Lodge throughout. He took the role of Register of Marks within the lodge in 2019 and remains in this office to date. He has always been a staunch supporter of the Lodge, and in 2020 he was recognised for this service to both the lodge and the Province, by being appointed to the rank of Past Provincial Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies.

At this year’s Provincial meeting, as a further mark of his popularity and service, the Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother David C. Purdie, was pleased to promote him to the rank of Past Provincial Grand Senior Deacon.

The brethren of the Province congratulate Brother Tony reaching this remarkable achievement and wish him many more happy years marking well.
