The Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie, lead the first entourage to London after the summer break. Joining him on the journey were the Deputy Provincial Grand Master Very Worshipful Brother John P. Clendinning, and the Past Provincial Grand Masters namely Right Worshipful Brothers Peter Hawken and Peter Balsom, along with a posse of other brethren from around the Province.

The atmosphere for the Mark Grand Lodge Quarterly Communications meeting, as always, was buzzing with the enjoyment of friends meeting again, and plenty of humour was seen throughout the day. It was nice to see our own active Grand Officers performing their duties on the floor of the Grand Temple, namely Very Worshipful Brother Bill Humphries, Grand Master Overseer and Worshipful Brother Paul Howard-Baker, Grand Senior Deacon.

Our congratulations go to Worshipful Brother Neil Room-Doubleday who received his preferment, with the promotion to Past Grand Junior Deacon.

After the meeting, the brethren congregated for the usual Provincial Team photograph, before heading to the Grand Connaught rooms for the festive board.

It is always lovely to see the brethren enjoying each other’s company and catching up with our neighbours from Cornwall too, in the form of Right Worshipful Brother Peter Furness, the Provincial Grand Master and his Deputy, Worshipful Brother Michael Pritchard.

At the end of such a wonderful day, the brethren all made their way back to the Westcountry, relaxing courtesy of the Great Western Railway, even though for some, it was all too much.
