The Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother David C. Purdie, was joined by a number of very distinguished visitors when they travelled to Teignmouth recently to celebrate a remarkable event in Mark Masonry.
The visitors included the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Very Worshipful Brother John P. Clendinning, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master Worshipful Brother Brett Varker, Right Worshipful Brother Peter Hawken, Past Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Angus Stevenson-Hamilton Past District Grand Master for Hong Kong, and very Worshipful Brothers Jeffrey Attwood and Ronald Smerdon, both Past Grand Junior Overseers.
The were in turn joined by a large number of officers from around the Province to celebrate the anniversary of Very Worshipful Brother Gerry P. Rooke, who has served 60 Years as a Mark Master Mason in the Province of Devonshire.
Very Worshipful Brother Gerry was advanced into Mark Masonry in the Benevolent Lodge of Mark Master Masons on the 19th June 1964. He has been a well respected member since then, not only within his lodge, and the Province in General, but is also well known and loved by brethren of many orders within Devonshire.
He has held offices within the lodge, the Province and has been honoured with Grand rank, the most recent being a promotion to Past Grand Junior Overseer in 2021.
The brethren of the Province congratulate V.W. Bro Gerry on such a remarkable achievement and wish him many more years of happiness within our lovely order.
