The Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother David C. Purdie, and some of his team have been out and about in Wales this week, attending some of their Provincial Meetings.

The first port of call on their travels was to the Holiday Inn in Newport to the Annual meeting of the Mark Province of Monmouthshire, where he was joined by his Deputy Very Worshipful Brother John P. Clendinning, his Assistant Worshipful Brother Brett Varker and his Provincial Grand Secretary Worshipful brother Chris Elliott. They were there to witness the installation of their new Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Benjamin William Dykes which was undertaken by the Pro Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother John Herbert Prizeman in a very moving ceremony. After being invested one of his first duties was to invest those officers being appointed and promoted within the Province, which was done superbly.

Following the meeting the brethren retired to enjoy a wonderful festive board, where old friends meet and enjoy time together, and even the Provincial Grand Master and his Deputy from our neighbours, the Province of Cornwall, even joined in the fun.

  

On Wednesday the Executive, which was lead by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master Very Worshipful John P. Clendinning, together with the Assistant Worshipful Brother Brett Varker and the Provincial Assistant Grand Secretary Worshipful Brother Jon Webber travelled to the majestic masonic temple in Cardiff, where they visited the annual meeting of the South Wales Province of Mark Master Masons.

The reception by their Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother Eirian Jones, was welcoming and warming, and the meeting and investiture of their officers was undertaken in a sincere and well organised ceremony. 

After the meeting, the brethren made their way to the dining room, where the comforting festive board was being held. Not to miss an opportunity, the Pro Grand Master again joined our Deputy Provincial Grand Master for the Devonshire Group photo.

  

It was also wonderful to see not just the friendship of those within the degree, but the connections that exist externally from around the country were still prominent, as our Provincial Assistant Grand Secretary found out, as the old military bonds came together.
