The Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie, recently attended an Emergency Meeting of the newly formed Devon Mark Rugby Lodge, who are currently operating under the warrant of Athelstan Mark Lodge 958 whilst awaiting the formal name change to be ratified.

It was his pleasure to witness a wonderful "Double Advancement" ceremony which was carried out by the excellent team lead by the Worshipful Master, Worshipful Brother Brett Varker, who is also the Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

The candidates, Brothers Kevin Green and Dougie Bing, were admitted in due form and were ablely escorted through the ceremony by Brother Chris Cload as the Senior Deacon, avoiding the wrath of the Wardens and Overseers, whilst the signs and secrets were eloquently demonstrated by Right Worshipful Brother Peter Balsom, the Past Provincial Grand Master. The working tools were then presented in an excellent manner by Brother Stephen Michell, before the Worshipful Master welcomed them both into the Lodge. 

The festive board ensued during which both brethren gave heart felt responses to their toasts.
