Recently the Unity lodges of both the degrees of the Mark Master Masons and the Royal Ark Mariners became united in their support for a local cause.
Established in 2008 the Devon Racqueteers, then known as the Devon Racqueteers Wheelchair Badminton Club, was set up to allow wheelchair users to play badminton. The club has recently relaunched as a Para-Badminton club, which increases the accessibility for people with any type of physical and/or learning disability.
The club has a highly qualified coaching team whom coach players who come for fun but also to those who compete at local, national and international level competitions. The club has coached 4 international players representing England and many more who have competed at a national level. They were even awarded the prestigious title of 'Badminton Club of the Year' in 2014.
The Unity Lodges donated to support them with the much needed running costs of the club - Unity Mark 783 presented a cheque for £200.00, with Unity RAM 783 presenting a further cheque for £100.00.
