This year at the Devon Hotel Pear Tree Cross, W.Bro Roger Inman was bowled over with delight at the huge number of applicants he and Mary, his wife, had had to deal with!  'One of the most successful lunches ever' he was heard to say in his speech to the assembled 101 participants.  Indeed, it was as in some years the number attending had fallen to about 25 and serious thought had been put to not having the event.  Fortunately for us he continued to provide an opportunity for the DMCA to thank the Charity Stewards for all their efforts in supporting R.WBro. Peter Balsom our PGM and the Province.  The PGM paid tribute to the efforts of the Charity Stewards and Brethren in FUNdraising.

The Chairman of the DMCA, W.Bro Trevor Jenkins in his welcome to the PGM and his wife Shirley and all the guests,  was pleased to announce the results so far of the DMCA 2022 Project (raising £100,000 and dispersing the same to Local Charities) up to the Centenary of the DMCA in 2022.  So far we have distributed money to four Charities, Special Care Baby unit at Torbay (£16,817.44) Cadogan Court (£15,858), North Devon Children's Hospice (£9,914) and Friends and Family in Plymouth (£8728).  He went on to say that in 2020 there will be two further donations and also in September 2021.  He thanked W.Bro Brett Varker for taking on the role of co-ordinator of appeals to the fund for the project.

Congratulations to you all! Here's to the Luncheon in 2020, watch the website for further information.
