Worshipful Brothers John Betts and Garry Kitchen were out in force recently to present a cheque on behalf of the Devon Mark Charity Association (DMCA), of which they are the Chair and Deputy Chair, respectively.

They went to the Plym Bridge House CAMHS Unit, based on the outskirts of Plymouth. Plym Bridge House is a specialist 12-bed, purpose-built unit in the north of Plymouth, for teenagers with severe mental ill health and co-occurring physical or neuro-developmental disabilities, serving the whole of Devon.

The cheque for £1050.00 was to help with the project to adapt a room into a sensory room. Iona Georgakis, the occupational therapist for the unit who received the cheque, told us that the building work is well underway and the soundproofing to the walls is the next stage, and they hope to be finished shortly.

This is the latest large grant awarded by the DMCA, under the initiative announced by the Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie, to use funds received from Mark Lodges that have achieved their diamond collarettes, to make larger grants around the Province.
