The Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Brother David Charles Purdie, was present at the recent installation ceremony of the Cornerstone Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners 1992, being held in Uffculme. He was accompanied on this occasion by Worshipful Brother Brett Varker, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master and Deputy Provincial Grand Master Designate, Worshipful Brother Christopher Elliott, Provincial Grand Secretary and Assistant Provincial Grand Master Designate, together with Worshipful Brother Robert Palmer, the Deputy Provincial Grand Secretary and Provincial Grand Secretary Designate for the forthcoming year. All these brethren, not only being the Provincial Executive for the forthcoming year, but they are all also Past Commanders of the lodge.

The main business of the evening was to see Worshipful Brother Alan Dummett installed as the new Worshipful Commander of this fine lodge. The ceremony was carried out by the outgoing Commander, Worshipful Brother Julian Turner, who installed his successor in a heartfelt and exemplary manner. Worshipful Brother Alan then went on to appoint and invest his officers. During this investiture, a humorous event took place when Worshipful Brother Robert Palmer, was appointed as the Warder, and left the lodge to a very hearty acclamation.

During the meeting, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master also had the opportunity to present a Grand Lodge certificate, with an excellent explanation of it, to Brother Andrew Virgin, who was recently elevated into the Ancient and Honourable Fraternity

Following the wonderful meeting, the brethren retired to the refectory for a wonderful culinary experience at the festive board.
