Apart from the usual business elements, W.Bro. John Pritchard, Worshipful Master, had the honour to welcome to the meeting the Provincial Grand Master R.W.Bro. Peter Balsom and many of the Active Provincial team, the Provincial Grand Master of the Craft R.W.Bro. Ian Kingsbury and his deputy V.W.Bro. Nick Ball and Assistant PGM W.Bro. Peter Keaty. There were representatives in the assembly of many of the other orders in freemasonry of which Hawton Mark Lodge's star member, R.W.Bro. Peter Hawken MBE, subscribes.  A special welcome was also made to the Grand Secretary, R.W.Bro. Ryan Williams.

The Agenda and Zoom meeting was well managed by W.Bro. Martyn Aldridge, Secretary, guiding W.Bro. Pritchard through the business and ensuring that matters were kept on schedule. Apart from reports it was also decided that the Lodge would present the Devon Mark Charity Association with a cheque for £1000 which the PGM assures will be put to good use.

R.W.Bro. Peter Balsom, then made a presentation addressing the assembled members and visitors.  He was delighted to welcome Past Deputy Provincial Grand Masters, David Lee & Bill Humphries and Past Assistant Grand Master Colin Richards as well as echoing the welcome to the other distinguished guests. He acknowledged the immense contribution to freemasonry that R.W.Bro Peter Hawken has made in his 50 years and also the fact that he now holds very high office in many of the orders of which he is a member let alone being the President of the Board of Mark Masonry! R.W.Bro. Peter also thanked R.W.Bro Peter Hawken for being such an inspiration and mentor to him. He went on to highlight other parts of Peters life, his wife Wendy, his family and his faith that have supported him in all his achievements. There was thunderous applause given by brethren on line!

Following on, R.W.Bro. Peter Hawken then thanked all the members of Hawton Mark Lodge No.100 for their good wishes as well as those present. He said that he had had a great time as a member of Hawton recalling some of he great characters who had been in the Lodge and characters in freemasonry.  He made special thanks to W.Bro. Martin Lawrence's wife Vivienne who had made a celebratory cake which he would have loved to have shared with everyone but due to current circumstances is unable to do so. Shame! we all cried!!  He hoped that he would have a chance to 'work it off' before his next weigh in!

R.W. Bro. Ryan Williams was also able to comment and congratulate him on the work that R.W.Bro. Peter undertakes at Grand Lodge 'behind the scenes' that influences the whole of Mark Masons of England, and Wales and its Districts and Lodges Overseas.

The evening concluded with glasses raised to R.W.Bro. Peter Hawken, applause and the hopes that we would be able to meet as soon as it is safe to carry on the congratulations in person.
