W.Bro. Chris Elliott was able to secure the services of V.W.Bro. Tony Harvey P.G.J.O. P.Prov.G.Sec. (Derbyshire), a Prestonian lecturer to make our advancement in Masonic Knowledge. V.W.Bro. Tony was keen to acknowledge that we were the first Mark Province to  host such a lecture and to have over 100 brethren book in, the strongest expected attendance for any of the previous lectures delivered.

Apart from our own Mark members, we were also host to many members of the Craft and Holy Royal Arch in Devonshire including the Provincial Grand Master, R.W.Bro. Ian Kingsbury  supported by his Assistant Provincial Grand Masters and E.Comp. Simon Rowe, Grand Superintendent with many distinguished members of the Holy Royal Arch.  There were also brethren and companions who had not yet taken the step towards Mark Masonry who were undoubtedly seeking information.

We were also pleased to welcome brethren from the Grand Lodge of the State of Rio de Janerio, the Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon in Canada, Lincolnshire and South America Northern Division District.

V.W.Bro. Tony delivered a fascinating discourse on the links between the three leading Orders in Freemasonry examining the historical perspectives about how they developed from the original charter pre the Union in 1813 and he also commented that adapting and evolving is a vital process for the Lodge and the Orders to continue to exist.

Following the presentation the virtual floor was open for a question and answers session which had been stimulated by the content of the lecture.

The evening concluded with R.W.Bro. Peter Balsom thanking V.W.Bro Tony for his delivering the lecture, thanking R.W.Bro. Ian Kingsbury and E.Comp. Simon Rowe for helping advertise the event and for taking out time to join us as well as thanking all attendees from around the world to join Devonshire, the oldest Mark Province in the World, for joining in.

V.W.Bro. Tony will be back on 28th October 2020 to deliver part two of the lecture.  Joining Instructions will be sent out nearer the time.
